Stephen,
I did some preliminary investigation relative to Francois' war service but was never able to find much in the way of "new" information.
As a result of another one of my lines, I belonged---for a few years---to the Sons of the American Revolution organizaion. SAR has an extensive resource library in Louisville and I did stop in there for a few hours one afternoon; this was back in the mid-1990's.
Besides Toussaint's U. S. Pension Application, No. R6186, the only other reference to Francois that I was able to find at the SAR library was the listing of his name in the book, "Canadian Participants in the American Revolution, An Index," by Virginia Easley DeMarce, 1980.That volume, on page 158, referenced Francois, indicating: "Livernois, Francois, Beloeil. Taken prisoner in Ethan Allen's failed raid on Montreal, 25 September 1775."
I was able to locate several very general references to the Ethan Allen's Montreal raid, however, in none of these was Francois specifically mentioned.Someone like Marcel Benoit might be a good inidivual to check with regarding alternative French Canadian information sources. Then too, a posting on either the Benoit &/or Livernois Forums might be worthwhile.
Best regards,
Paul J. LaVanway, Sr.
