I have something that may help; I am descended from these families on my paternal side.Count Bartholomew DuPuy, b. 1650 or 1653 (d. 1743) in France married Susanne LaVillan (I have seen it spelled both with an "a" and an "o") of Lyons, France (b. 1663; d. 1737). They married in 1685 and at some point ended up in Manikin Town, VA.They had at least one son, John James DuPuy, b. 1687; d. 1775.In 1728 he married Suzanne LaVillan, daughter of John Peter Villan. Im not sure if these children were born or married in VA or in Europe.
John James DuPuy and Suzanne had a daughter in Manikin Town, VA, on Nov. 12, 1729, named Olympia (d. in KY in 1822).She married John James Trabue (1722-1775) of Chesterfield Co., VA in 1744. He died in Chesterfield Co.
Their daughter Jane Trabue was born on Jan 12, 1752 in Chesterfield Co., VA. About 1775 she married the Rev. Joseph Minter (b. March 19, 1754; d. 1814 in Woodford Co., KY; son of Jos. Anthony Minter & Elizabeth of Powhatan Co., VA). They had over a dozen children between 1776-1795, including James (1/76), Nancy (1/77), Elizabeth (7/78), Judith (9/79), Jane ('81), Sarah (8/82), John (5/84), William (12/85), Martha (4/87), Joesph Jr. (6/89), Tabitha (2/91), Anthony (12/91), James ('94), and Jeremiah (June 26, 1796). The first James died yonug and there is no history on the second. The rest married and ended up in MO, TN or IL.
In order of the above, the females married Jos. Watkins, James Major, ? (possibly Gow), Benjamin Watkins, Wm. Cosby, Peter Gregory, Wm. Pittman.
Rev. Minter d. about 1775 and Jane in Woodford Co., KY, in 1802.Their youngest, Jeremiah, married Sarah McDowell of Mercer Co., KY (b. June 17, 1801; daughter of Samuel McDowell and Anne Irvine)in Columbus, OH, on March 12, 1819.They settled in Marion Co., MO, and had children: Anna Maria, McDowell, Magdalena, Mary S., Marshall A., Sarah Jo, Ellen, Henry Bartholde, and Susan.
I hope this helps!
