Re: Buxton Lawn
I am happy to hear from another relative.I have met several relatives that I didn't know about in these past few months through My GenForum. You said that youlost your copy of "Pike County, Misissippi". It is available from Southern Historical Press, Inc., 375 West Broad St., Greenville, S.C. 29602-1267.It has been reprinted in its entirety as the main part of "Source Records From Pike County, Mississippi 1798-1910". It is a very nice hard cover book.I just recently got a copy for myself.I have several print outs about Hanna Lightfoot that I got over the internet, and they are very interesting.I visited Odessa way back in the middle 60's when I was stationed at Fort Hood.I have always liked that area, and have fond memories of my army days in Texas.Have been back several times over the years.I married a Ladner, and we both are researching our families, we find we both share some distant relatives between the Saucier and Ladner families.I don't know if you know, but Luke Ward is buried here on the coast, in the old confederate soldiers cemetery in back of the Jefferson Davis Home and Museum "Beauvior" at Biloxi. He was living in the old soldiers home on the Jefferson Davis property at the time of his death in 1922.
Its so good to find another distant relative.
May the peace of our Lord be with you and your family.
