Just saw your post about Thomas Lazzell (1753-1825)

Don't know too much about the Mass. Thomas, but Bowlby web site, as
well as sources from my relatives in Oklahoma, have him as father
of my Thomas Lazzell, Jr. (1787-1867), who was definitely father of my ggg
grandmother Nancy (Lazelle) Keenan (1831-1912)...

We were just speculating about my ggg grandmother's real MIDDLE
name... Bowlby folks have it as "L."....my Oklahoma folks, using
The History of West Virginia, Old and New, published in 1923 by
the American HistoricalSociety, Inc. have it as "Carhart"...

Now I have a 1937 letter from my gg grandfather, Bruce Lazzell
Keenan, written to my grandmother, directly stating that his mother's
name was Nancy Scott Lazzell.

Althought there seem to be significant discrepancies in the above
History about which elder Thomas was married to Hanna Beck (there seems
to be one from Philadelphia in one place and then from Mass. in another),
I find it very intriguing that some elder Thomas' second wife's name was
apparentlyNANCY SCOTT...if the Mass. Thomas' really had a Nancy
Scott... seems likely he's somehow connected to our family..
