Hi Cy,
yes, Harriet is from my family. Her father was William Leaf, a tailor, 1807-1871, who married Jane Meyrick in 1830. William's father is Edward Leaf, a tailor, 1778-1848, and I've yet to find out where he was born or when/where he married his wife Mary. Edward and Mary are the first Leafs in Howden, with all subsequent Howden Leafs being their descendents.
Back to Harriet - yes, I saw that she went to Bradford (though don't know why) and that she married Robert Monkman. I knew he had been married before but not that he'd been married twice.
When Harriet's father william died in June 1871 he left £5 each to his children William Leaf, Sarah Fell, Mary Robson and Harriet Leaf, with the rest of his belongings to his son Edward Leaf.
Do you have any information about Harriet other than what appears on the censues?
