Re: Pierre Marie Lecoq/Anne Marie Cosson
I am a Great Grandson of Jean Marie Lecocq who landed in Manitoba Canada in 1903/04. Jean Marie and his wife Marie Therese (nee Brigand?) came to Canada with 4 children: Yves, Francois, Jean Marie Jr, and a baby that died of Typhoid on an island on route to Canada. They were residing in a town called Guingamp which is near St Brieuc in the Brittany area of France. Jean Marie Lecocq Sr. was a merchant sailor operating from the port of Saint Malo which is also in Brittany. As far as I can tell so far, he left behind three sisters, one married and two remained as spinsters. I have no information on cousins they left behind in France. When they came to Canada, they settled in St.Alphonse/ Mariapolis area of Manitoba. Although the spelling of Lecocq is different,it may be the same bloodline. I would appreciate any shred of information you may know of. By the way, there were some Lecocq/Lecoq on the Channnel Islands of Jersey and Guernse near Saint Malo.
