Re: Corrections to some Lee Family Genealogies & some Albemarle Co. deeds
Maybe you can give me a lead on a problem I have.John Hunter was an early resident in Albemarle Co. being there as early as 1740.He is in several deed records with a Lee family member. In his will in 1778 he names four grandchildren named Lee, Robert, John, Elizabeth and Frances, whose mother may have been Margery Hunter, his daughter, but she is deceased. He does not name the father but refers to him.Do you have a Lee marriage to a Hunter in VA around the 1740's?I am guessing it may have been a Robert Lee as one son was Robert.
Item I give to my Grandchildren Robert, John, Elizabeth & Frances LEE, two mulatto girls Lucy & Judy that I lent to their Mother & their Increase to be Equally Divided between them also a debt due me from their Father for the sum of Fifty Eight pounds, nine shillings & ten pence Virginia Currency, to them & their heirs forever---
This deed may be my John Hunter or his son John.Charles May married a Hunter.
