Re: Admiral Schley a descendant?
The book, the Pennsylvania LeFevres, has a Jocab Lefevre, born 1785 married to Mary Pope Jackson as a son of a Jacob Lefevre. The book says that he was raised by "uncle Major Baltzell".But, my research has shown that Jacob b. 1785 was one of seven sons of Elias Lefever born 1743 (the book has only 2 sons!).My John Lefever born 1774-78 was one of the seven. In OH in 1822 my John & Jacob lived near each other & 9 of Jacob's offspring by 1838 lived within 1 mile of my Lefevers.
There are a number of ways that this Baltzell might be reporded to the book compilers as "uncle".One of which is the marriage of a widow of a Baltzell who married a Schley.Still not solved.
What I have if you want it is a copy of the original hand-written deed where the heirs of your Christian Lefever (died 1801) sold his land to George Butt Sr. &George Butt Jr.Of interest, there is no mention of a son Christian of your Christian Sr. in this sale by heirs.
Christian (Jr.) born abt 1786? was a minor then and MD law would have had a separate document for his interest in the estate, and there would have been a guardian apointed for him. There are neither in the records.
However, one of Elias's minor children when he died intestate 1803 was named Christian and Elias Lefever (Jr.) born 1770 was apointed guardian of him & another son George.
Which means that the book is incorect in adding this son Christian as one of Christian's descndants. In fact, Christian in 1806 was living with Elias Lefever born 1770 in Warren Co. Ohio.
I think where I am missing marrriage (of Elias Lefever Sr. and other information- he married Mary Salome abt. 1765) is Maryland archives outside of Frederick Co,
This deed names your Elizabeth & John Price as her husband & all her siblings,
