Harold R. LEISE
Silverdale resident Harold R. Leise died February 8, 2007 in Poulsbo (WA). He was 86. Born to H. ROBERT and PEARL (MERCER) LEISE in Seattle, Washington May 8, 1920. Harold spent his early years in Edmonds, before attending Seattle Pacific College. Leaving college to join the US Army in September of 1942, he served his country honorably in England and Germany before being discharged in March of 1946 as a staff sergeant. He met his wife of 62 years, IVY BUCKLEY LEISE while stationed in England.
After his army discharge he embarked on a 34 year civil service career with the VA and Department of Defense, serving both in the US and Okinawa. Harold is survived by his wife, IVY, daughter, HAZEL THORNTON of Poulsbo, 2 sons, PHIL LEISE and JEFF LEISE, both of Silverdaale, and a sister, DOROTHY HALSTED of Edmonds.
Surviving grandchildren are JAMES WILLIAMS, Lynnwood, JANET SAVAGE, Pouslbo, JAMES LEISE, Seattle, JENNIFER BENAVIDES, Bellevue, as well as 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
At Harolds request there will be no service. There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.
