George Leisenring-Civil War Soldier
Looking for any clues such as family and burial location on a Union soldier named George Leisenring. He was a private in Co.C of the Washigton Brigade that was formed in Philadelphia, Pa. He died in Pennsylvania Hospital, Phila.,Pa.in 1861, as a result of a wound rec'vd in Baltimore. The hospital records only state that he was a single man of 26 yrs.from Germany.(that would make his birthdate around 1835) There seems to be no record of burial for him in the City of Philadelphia.
I have Leisenrings in my family, that started out in the Lehigh Co.Pa area. Could George be related to any of the many from this Lehigh area and be possibly interred in a family plot there? Any help would be appreciated!
