Questionable Results

Am curious about the whole dna thing. Right there on the page displaying your response to Carol is an advertisement for dna testing, and it says in the ad that females cannot be tested. So how does that work? How did Carol get tested? Please forgive my ignorance in the matter.
Like everyone here (or nearly) I am also descended from Pierre Lejeune. Here is my line down from him:
Pierre Lejeune - Unknown
Catherine Lejeune - Francois Savoie
Catherine Savoie - Francois Levron dit Nantois
Jeanne Levron dit Nantois - Augustin Comeau
Jean-Baptiste Comeau - Anne Bourgeois
Marie Comeau - Jean-Benoni Thibert
Jean-Baptiste Thibert - Marie-Louise Denault
Antoine Thibert - Helene Thibault
Antoine Thibert - Eudoxie Pinsonnault
Marie-Helene Thibert- Louis Joseph Paul (My maternal grandparents)
Every bit of information I've found cites Pierre Lejeune's 'marriage' to an unknown Micmaq, including a letter that also states that he was of the Brie region in France (hence the dit name of Briard) and, at the age of about 16, came from France to Acadia in May of 1611 aboard the ship "Grace de Dieu". This document does not say for certain that his wife was Micmaq, only that it is likely as there were no European women here at that time.
Kindest regards,
-Leona-
