I am working on this family from the Wilbur side...Ambrosia Belle Wilbur was my husband's first cousin thrice removed. However, since posting my query, I have accumulated the following data:
Charles Ewing "Charley" Lemley was born 8 April, 1870 (place unknown) and died 8 March, 1934 at Porter, Wagoner Co., OK. He lies buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter.
Ambrosia Belle "Belle" Wilbur was born 16 May, 1871 at Lansing, Ingham Co., MI and died 28 November, 1929 at Porter, Wagoner Co., OK.She lies buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter.
Charles Elmer Lemley was born 10 Mary, 1895 at Coweta, Wagoner Co., OK and died 14 December, 1918 at Tin Cup Heights, Galveston Co., TX of influenza complicated by bronchopneumonia. At the time of his death, Charles was employed as an oil agent by P. F. Oless of Texas City, TX. His headstone states that he died 14 December, 1917...which is an error.
Halley Lemley married Beulah ?. Both are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter, Wagoner Co., OK.
Robert Frank Lemley was born 24 March, 1911 in Oklahoma and died 4 November, 1970. Both he and his wife, Etha L., are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter.
Cora Lemley married ? BLACKWOOD. Their son was the one who originally contacted me for Wilbur family information but he refused to give me any family data in return.
Elmer Lemley (He may be the same as Charles Elmer Lemley...not sure yet.)
Anna Belle Lemley married ? MC ALESTER
I am an experienced genealogical researcher of nearly 25 years. I will have to say that this is one of the most difficult families to trace that I have ever encountered. I wish I could locate them in the 1900 US Census but so far, no luck. The only bits of data I have been able to find for this bunch thus far are some very sparse cemetery records and Charles Elmer Lemley's TX death certificate. Good luck with this...hopefully you'll have much better luck. According to someone I once had contact with in the Porter area, there are descendants of this family still living in Wagoner Co.
