I've got this name in my bloodline, too, but have not been able to get back that far.I've got J. A. Lemmond (I think that is John Adam) b 1860 in NC, d 1932, son of J. A. Lemmond and Rachel Unknown.Married Mary Henrietta Harkness 2/22/1879 in Union Co., NC.Their issue was Marcus Elias, b 11/11/1886, William Cleve Lemond, b 4/11/1891, Charlie LeMonds, Elizabeth (who was possibly full blooded Indian, and possibly adopted) b 6/21/1880 and who married my gg-grandfather Wm. Henry George, Maggie Lemmond, b 1934, Washington Suttle Lemmond, b 9/28/1888, and Virgie Permelia Lemmond, b 12/4/1884.
