Re: ALICE LEVANWAY (Illinois-California)
Glenda, if you are still seeking info on Alice, she died in 1948, so she is on several censuses, including 1930, when she was living with son Albert and his family. Her first husband, Charles Warren Palm, was my great-grandfather, and interestingly, he did not die within the time frame you would think. When she declared herself a widow on the 1900 census, she had actually been divorced from Charles for several years, since he apparently abandoned her and the children and married my great-grandmother, Nellie Dick, in 1894. He had a terrible alcohol problem, and after being estranged from his second wife and kids (of which one was my maternal grandfather, Karl Dick Palm), he died in 1906 as a result of the San Francisco earthquake. I have documentation for all of these facts. Feel free to contact5 me at the above email.
