Re: Lewerenz/Ebeling connection
Do you know anything about this Wisconsin line of the Lewerenz family?
Carl A. Lewerenz (1825 - 1898) and wife Henrietta Tratzen
Carl was also known as "Charley Lewrenz"
Their children included:
William C. Lewerenz (1854 - 1932) and his wife Elizabeth Blass
Carl W. Lewerenz (1864 - 1947) and his wife Alvina Bartelt
Minna J. Lewerenz (1865 - 1901) and her husband John Scheffner
One other son - name unknown
Carl W. and Alvina's children included:
Carl R. (1891 - 1965) and his wife Elsa Preuss
Otto and his wife Amy Brandt
William C. and Elizabeth's children included:
Roy B. (1886 - 1947) and his wife Helene Clark
Elmaeta, who never married
Roy and Helene's children included:
Harold R (1910 - 1970) and his wife Emily Schank
Vida Elizabeth, husband if any unknown
Clarice Helene, husband if any unknown
Ellis Gordon, who never married
The reason I ask is that I was told Harold R. moved to Palmer, Alaska, and I was wondering if this is just coincidence or is there a connection between your Illinois Lewerenzes and my Wisconsin Lewerenzes. Do any of these names ring a bell with you? I am hoping to find the name of Carl A. and Henrietta's unknown son. If it helps any, Carl A. had a brother named William August Herman (1819 - 1888) who never emigrated from Germany and the name of the parents on "Charley Lewrenz's" death certificate is Leutric and Minnie Lewrenz. By the way, we pronounce the "w" in Lewerenz as a "v" - how 'bout you?
