Brian,

My wife Helen is descended from Richard LIMBRICK (1821-1871) and Eleanor (Ellen) WALL (1823-1886), through their daughter Emily (1858-1922), who married George STRATTON (1856-1927) on 25-April-1883 in Kyabram, Victoria (Australia).

I understand your George (called 'Jim') was born in Iron Acton, Gloucester 9-Mar-1843.He emigrated with his parents and other siblings to Australia in 1854, arriving in Australia in Jan 1855.

George's younger sister Emily (our ancestor) was born in Heidelberg, Victoria where the family first came to live before moving to Kyneton, Victoria. The family had a property at Piper's Creek.

Richard LIMBRICK was killed by a falling tree at Piper's Creek27-July-1871. He is buried in the Kyneton Cemetery.
His wife Ellen (nee WALL) died in Carag Carag 18-March-1886 and is buried in the Rochester Cemetery.

I'm interested in corresponding with anyone researching LIMBRICK and WALL in Gloucestershire and Australia.

Greetings from Phillip Island,

John (and Helen) Maynard
