Re: Berdena Lindabury of Michigan
Loren, I don't have a lot of information regarding Berdena and her sons, but "every little bit" helps!
Berdena's sisters and brothers were: Alpha (Alfie), a female, Nellie Cecelia (my Grandmother), Effie, William Edward and Roy Lindabury (Lindaberry), born in the Welland area, Ontario.
From a picture of Berdena taken in her early years that I remember seeing, she appeared to be short and had dark hair.My Grandmother was short also, so it may have been a family trait.
Berdena's mother died October 19, 1918.Berdena took care of her for awhile in Detroit, taking her to doctors there.Rebecca Jennie then came back to Welland, Ont. and stayed with her daughter, Nellie. She died in Welland. Her obituary states that she was 73 years of age and was well-liked by all who knew her, both in Welland and Detroit. Her obituary states that Berdena was living in Detroit, Michigan.
Berdena's mother and father, Marlon and Rebecca Jennie Lindaberry are buried in Doan's Ridge Cemetery, Welland, in a section of unmarked graves.
A family member visited Berdena and her family in Detroit circa 1920.I don't know the year that she moved to Los Angeles, CA.
I have no information regarding Frank Schleffel, but will keep trying to locate something.
Also buried in Doan's Ridge Cemetery, Welland, in an unmarked grave in Section A, is "FREDERICK SCHLEFFEL, age 70, drowned in Welland Canal 4 months ago today, May 21, 1911, found yesterday, single,F- John Schleffel."This appears to be the son of John Christoph Schloeffel and Maria Cristina Kallenbach that you have listed in your 6/6/2001 posting.
Good luck in your search! Are you descended from the Lindabury or Schloeffel/Schleffel families?
