Re: Margeret or Margery Lindley

Correction on Margery Lindley, dau of James and Elinor Parke Lindley. Margery reported to the Friends that she was pregnant by Joshua Hadley in Jan of 1736, recorded in the Pa. Quaker book. Joshua's first wife Mary Rowland died in 1734 leaving him with three small children. Joshua Hadley m Patience Brown after he heard of Margery's pregnancy. Margery did name her son Joshua Hadley, probably Lindley as a surname but he left the Lindley off his name when became of age as he use only the name Joshua Hadley. Margery had four husbands between 1736 and 1760, have copies of all four husband's wills to prove this. Also the Orphan court records to prove she had a son Joshua Hadley and two Ashmore Children. I desc from her son James Ashmore b abt 1737 in Pa. Her son Joshua Hadley and James Ashmore moved to Mechlenburg, N.C. just after their mother died in Pa. Have copy of Joshua's will, he died in Carrabus Co. N.C. James Ashmore live to move to Tn....
