Ronald Edward Lively, 69, of Dawsonville, GA, formerly of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, passed away August 5, 2010, with his loving family at his side after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born, April 2, 1941, Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Jeretta Lively, of Kingsport, TN.
Ron was a retired project manager with CD Mechanical of Demorest Georgia. He lived a productive and adventure- filled life. He was a builder of tall buildings in his professional life and a beautiful mountain cabin for he and his devoted wife, Marilyn.
He was a lifelong lover of hunting and fishing and was a master of both, as well as an expert marksman. His other passion was following the University of Tennessee Football and Basketball teams. Ron was most comfortable deep in the forest and mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Ronald Lively will be remembered as a self- sufficient, hard-working and independent man.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kearney Lively; daughters, Wendy and son-in-law Mark Bowery, and Jacque and son-in-law Robert Riddle; sons, Shane Lively, Clint and daughter-in-law Angela Lively, George and daughter-in- law Elizabeth Fraqulis, and John Fraqulis and fiancée Amanda Ead; eight grandchildren; and brother, Jerry L. Lively, of Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2010, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, August 9, 2010, at 4 p.m., at McDonald and Son Chapel, Cumming, GA.
