William Henry Lloyd, Hairdresser, Knighton, Radnorshire

I am the Great Great Grandson of William Henry Lloyd (b c1821 Kent)and have searched for many years for his death registration. He appears in the 1861 census and in 1871 his wife, Esther (nee Sorman) described herself as a Hairdressers wife. I cannot however find any sign of WHL in any census after that date. I wonder whether he emigrated? Is there anyone out there with a clue to his whereabouts at that time?
