Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis Reichenbach of 52 Beechwood Terrace announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Jane Hopkins Reichenbach, and Elliot Chapin Lockwood, yesterday at a tea for immediate friends.The function was held at the Reichenbach residence.
Mr. Lockwood is the son of Mrs. Henry Beekman Hamilton of 1 Shonnard Terrace and the late R. Bigelow Lockwood, Jr. The bride-elect is a direct descendant of Stephen Hopkins, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and first chancellor of Brown University.She is a granddaughter of the late Gideon Hopkins Peck, on of Yonkers’ oldest residents, who was well known in civic circles, and a neice of Percy S. Peck, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce.
Miss Reichenbach was graduated from Yonkers High School and attended the Columbia School of Art.At present she is studying at the Scudder Secretarial School.She is a member of the Gamma Iota sorority and the Junior Assembly of Yonkers.
