Re: Ambrose Long, 1736/Caroline Co., VA to Caswell, NC
Are you familiar with these Longs who were in Culpeper Co., VA (which was formerly Orange Co., VA......and Spotsylvania Co., VA before that)?
Garfield Brown married Nancy Long 1784
Hezekiah Brown married Sarah Long 1786
Also, if the Sarah Brown/Broomfield Long marriage was in what was Caroline Co., VA by 1728, Sarah certainly COULD have been out of the Abraham Brown/Mary Tribble line there.Abraham Brown came out of Essex Co., VA, and he died in Caroline Co., VA around 1735.We believe that he was part of the overall Brown family that is represented by "Group 10" on the Brown Society DNA testing website: http://brownsociety.org/browndna/dna-brown.htmhttp://brownsociety.org/browndna/dna-brown.htm
The above Garfield Brown in Culpeper Co., VA, however, was part of "Group 47," so he was not related to Abraham Brown (and I am not real sure about the above Hezekiah Brown).
There are some other posts (herein and/or on RootsWeb) about a William Brown (born 1721, per one record, but born 1740 on another record) who married a Sarah Long (with some connection to Culpeper Co., VA as well as to SC).Do you know of any such marriage? Thanks!
