Alfred Long (b. ~ 1805) and son Asa Long, Lincoln (Gaston) County, N. C.

I'm looking for information on Alfred Long (born ~ 1805 in Lincoln County, later Gaston County, North Carolina) who married Barbara Gales. They had at least five children:

1) William E. (m: Elizabeth Byars)
2) Sallie
3) Mary J.
4) Sarah A.
5) Asa Calvin b. ca. 1848; d. Jan. 14, 1933 (m: Margaret Hafner Feb. 2, 1871 in Gaston county)

In the 1850 Census Records for Gaston County, N. C. Alfred Long is in Household 694:
