Brent, I am one of the cousins working with Carol, in regards to this Long family. If you are connected, I would sure like to add you to our research list as well as to add your lineage to the family tree.
I have been working on this family for over 15 years now, off and on.
My husband is the gr gr grandson of John Elliott Long and Sarah Michael/Mickel.His gr grandfather, John Thomas Long, his grandfather Leonard Long, his father John C. Long, and then my husband, Richard W. Long.
Carol, and myself have been in contact for about 2 years, and another cousin, the one Carol mentioned in KS is Sharan, whom I have worked with for about 4 years now.
I am the one who finally cracked part of the puzzle and found the siblings of Richard H. Long, and the info on his siblings and found his parents Thomas D. Long and Mary Bond.Although, we have not been able to get any further than that, although we know that Thomas D.was in Louisa Co VA, 1822 and then in Spotslvainia about 1829, but, in KY by 1833.
Please I would definetly like to hear from you.......and share whatever we are able.
