Longenecker Family Newsletter Discovered Ulrich (1681)

By Dick Cryer April 16, 2004 at 08:49:09

In Vol. 6, No. 1 of the Longenecker Family Newsletter, Ulrich's (1681-1757, who lived in Coventry Twp., PA) and his brother Rev. Daniel's (1686-1756, who lived in Providence Twp., PA) birth records have been found in Biglen, Switzerland. It is not the same person as Ulrich (1666-1752, who live in Rapho Twp., PA). These facts change most of the descendancies of the Swiss Longeneckers. Incidentally, a different family of the Longacres exists when the Swede Andreas Petersson in 1685 changed his name to "Longacre" and had a descendant James B. Longacre, chief engraver of the U.S. Mint (1828-1849), who designed the Indian Head penny from his daughter, Sarah.
