For your information.
Mr. D. Raese, Ms. Campbell, and Mr. J. D. Sauls have had a running conversation over this issue.
At this point I believe that we are all in consensus that your Mary (Longshore) Reagin (1812-1877) most likely was the daughter of Robert's brother Euclydus.Robert's Mary born about 1809 died prior to 1832 (Robert's death)
Regarding Mary (L.) Reagin, the following:
Euclydus Longshore (b. 1792), who died at Roanoke, Alabama, buried at Bethel Church there (died intestate), who's wife was Grace McConnell:Mr. Andrea's notes show his eldest daughter was Mary Longshore Reagin, b. 1812, wife of John Reagin, etc. - Mr. Andrea goes on to say there is a wealth of records regarding the Reagin family in Newberry Co., S.C. but did not follow them up since his research focus was the Longshore surname.
Excerpt of a letter written by Levi Longshore, bro. of Mary Longshore Reagin, describing the family members & origins - Mr. Andrea noted his frustration at not having the entire text available to him, and difficulty interpreting the relationships since the writer, Levi, used terms such as "grandfather" etc. instead of names. (e.g., paternal or maternal grandfather??? Or, does Levi actually mean a great-grandfather???). However, sound info on surviving siblings, which are named - same as in Sauls' book.
Will (abstracted) of Robert Longshore, File #48-111-1169 Newberry Co. SC wills, dated 14 Apr 1832, proved 8 Jan 1835 shows no Mary - thus Robert's dau. Mary (b. 1809) died before 1832, therefore not the same as Mary (L) Reagin (1812-1878).
