1893 photo of Bayard Loomis
I purchased the subject studio portrait of a boy taken by by an unknown photographer.It is identified on the back of the mount in period ink handwriting by the subject himself:
"Compliments
of
Bayard Loomis,
Fremont, Nebr.
Age 12 yr Aug 25th 1893."
Additionally, the back of the mount is stamped in six places with the name "Bayard Loomis."
This individual is listed in the 1885 Nebraska State Census data for Fremont (resided on Main Street), Dodge Co., NE; the 1900 Census data for Fremont (resided at 905 E. 6th), Dodge Co., NE; the 1910 Census data for Fremont, Dodge Co., NE; and the 1930 Census data for Omaha (resided at 2733 Marett? Street), Douglas Co., NE.His WWI draft registration card, dated 12 Sep 1918, is also available.
Bayard Loomis, born 25 Aug 1881 in NE, was the son of a lawyer, George L. Loomis, born 28 Nov 1849 in Harmony, Chautauqua Co., NY, and Alice M. Hadley, born Nov 1856 in Jefferson, Hillsdale, MI.Bayard was mployed as a motion picture projectionist.On 26 Sep 1904, in Fremont, NE,Bayard married Nellie Johnson, born about 1885 in NE; the couple had one child, Leo Alice Bayard, born 1 Jan 1906 in NE.In Oct 1919, Bayard married Mary E. Fisher, born about 1899; the couple had one child, Stuart Loomis, born about 1920 in MO.Bayard married a third time, to Florence Vivian Otto Roberts, born about 1898 in IA.
