Ephraim Smith (1783-1863) & the Loomis Family

Ephraim Smith, the Baptist minister in Chateaugay NY for many years (1820-1863), was born in Waterbury VT about 1783 to Parents Unknown.He is said in the Smith family history to have been related to the Loomis family in Waterbury VT. It is not known if he had any formal seminary training.

When Ephraim's son Andrew's first wife died, Ephraim & his wife Nancy Devol sent to Waterbury for Ann & Huldah Loomis, daughters of Silas Loomis Jr. & Betsey Austin. Eventually (1848) Huldah Loomis became the second wife of Andrew Washington Smith, son of Ephraim.

Does anyone know who Rev. Epraim Smith's parents were and how they connect with the Loomis family tree ?
