I have been looking for years for information on a Lord family that lived in South Carolina during the late 1700s through the 1800s. My gg grandmother's name was Jane Emma Lord. It has been documented that she was the third daughter of Jacob Lord of Charleston, SC. One researcher suggested that her father and mother may have been Jacob Nathaniel Lord and Mary Elizabeth Tarbox, parents of 16 children. He also suggested that Jacob N. Lord may have been the son of William Lord and Sarah Minus of St. Paul's Parish, Colleton Dist., SC who had four sons all born before 1790 (one named Jacob). If you have any information which may help me confirm or eliminate this line, I would very much appreciate hearing from you.
