Re: Lord Family of Maryland & Georgia
Someone related to the Lord family from Washington County, Georgia sent in their DNA years ago. The resultis present on the Sorenson Genealogical testing Lab site. This Lord is directly related to Winsor Lord of Texas and he was decended from Leander and Solomon Lord of early 1800s Washington County. Perhaps this is your DNA?? These 37 markers have been entered in Family Tree DNA ysearch data base to help comparing to other Lords. We appear to be related to only one other Lord and he traced his ancestry to Maryland. That would make sense because it was understood the Lords of Washington County were originally from Maryland. ON another site I was able to compare the markers to what appears to be the Thomas Lord line from Connecticut and we dont appear to match. So the trail right now stops in Maryland. Our Lord family belongs to haplogroup I2b1 - England which indicates an old English ancestry going back over a thousand years. The only other close match is a Hill family which is probably related to us 700 to 1,000 years ago.
