Richard,
I don't mean to sound like a grand inquisitor, but I am curious as to where you heard that Toribio and Francisca had more than one child.(I'm just thrilled to find someone researching the same Losoyas I am!I was beginning to think I might be the only one!)I've read on the Texas Handbook Online that he had 3 children-- 2 daughters and a son, I think-- but I've only been able to account for one son, Juan Losoya, b. btw. 1833-1836.Toribio and Francisca married in 1833, and Toribio died in 1836, so they couldn't have had too many children. Also, in the application for bounty land, Concepcion Losoya refers to only one son, Juan, who was deceased.
Anyway, you said that Toribio wanted to send his wife and children to Gonzales.Do you mean before the battle at the Alamo?Because then you said Concepcion kept the children and Toribio's wife "went on"-- I'm assuming you mean Gonzales? That could explain why historians haven't been able to place Francisca Courbiere at the Alamo when it fell.
Thanks,
Marisa
