I have a Gilbert Lossing 1825-1896 married to a Debbie Ann here in St Clair Co., Kenockee. They are in 1880, 1870, 1860 census with very NON Lossing surname spelling, but it is them as in Kenockee. I'm NOT related directly, but have alot of info on Lossing. I keep this family census records when I teach genealogy to show how bad a surname can be pronounced and then written. When I go back to 1851 census Oxford Co., Norwich I did find Gilbert 27 Canada, Deborah 20 USA, Hanson 3 canada on same page is Benson 53 US, Hanah 51 US so is Gilbert a son?
