Received the following obit from the Vigo Co. Public Library, Terre Haute, IN. The obit was in the Terre Haute Tribune, Terre Haute, IN, on Saturday, 11 October 1924, page 2.
"MOSES LOUTHAN. By Special Correspondent. SULLIVAN, Ind.,Oct.11.--Moses Louthan, born in Harrison county, O., July 16, 1826, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Will W. Brown, in Greene county, Indiana, yesterday. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha L. Brown and Mayme Powell, of this city. Mr. Louthan was a member for 62 years of the Masonic lodge. He was a charter member and past-master of the Jasonville chapter. He ws also a veteran of the civil war. He was married to Cynthia M. Reid on March 11, 1868, and moved to greene county in 1871, where he engaged in farming until November, 1901, when he moved to Sullivan, where he lived until three years ago when he went to make hishome with his daughter, where he died. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Salem church in Greene county."
This is Moses Louthan (16 Jul 1826 - 10 Oct 1924) who married Cynthia M. Reid *(1836 - ?) on 11 March 1868.
Parents of Moses Louthan are Samuel M. Louthan (20 Sep 1801 - 1886) who married (1st wife) Anne Gropecroft (1803 - 1832) on 18 Oct 1825 in Beaver Co., PA.
