Re: Eli Lucas & Martha Barker Belmont Co. Ohio

Josiah Perkins Ward died in Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio, on 1 October 1954. His wife, Ella Louise Lucas, had died the previous 20 May 1953, and Pappa never recovered. They were buried at Belmont Ridge Christian Church cemetery. They had five children, three of whom lived to adulthood:

Elsie L. Ward, born 11 November 1891, married Floyd Thompson Latham, born 4 May 1894. Their marriage was on 26 April 1919, at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, shortly after Floyd returned from service in World War I. Their only daughter, Elizabeth Eloise Latham, born 13 March 1920, was my mother. Elsie died in 1997 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Floyd died 13 February 1930, at Bethesda, Belmont County, Ohio. Elizabeth Eloise died 29 July 2007, at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Harvey Andrew Ward was born in 1894, Washington Township, Belmont County, Ohio. I remember going out to Uncle Ed's farm when he got a new Ford tractor. He must have died in the 1950's in Belmont County. I know he was married and had children, but I only recall his son, Cyril, who lived in Columbus, Ohio [married to Leota and had two sons, Cyril and Robert].

Chester Elsworth Ward was born 16 July 1897, Washington Township, Belmont County, Ohio, He married Hazel Grove and they had four children: Donald, Nancy, Sarah and Roger. I don't have Uncle Chester's date of death handy, but he died at Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling.

Josiah and Ella had twin daughters, Dessie and Jessie, born 6 March 1906. They died in August 1906.
