Re: Lundberg in Sweden, Boston, New York
My great grandfather was Charles Lundberg who was born in 1870 in Sweden and came to Boston around 1895. My father remembers him talking of being a sailor although he spent most of his life working for the Boston Elevated Railway. In the 1900 census he lists himself as a ships captain.
In his citizenship papers he lists his point of entry into the US as Portland OR, but my dad says he told him he jumped ship in Houston.
I have searched many records but have not been able to find information on him that would cooperate either version, nor where in Sweden he came from.
My father does not remember any mention of relatives or stories of the old country.
Don't know if this is a possible connection but I sure would like to follow it. I have done a lot of genealogy on the family and this is one dead end that has had me stumped
