I believe I have found the family of your James English. In a Memorandum written by Jourdan Lurry, father of Martha Harrison Lurry, he mentioned building a home for Green English. On a hunch I looked up Green in 1850.He and wife Mary were living in Monroe county, GA, 60th Division, p. 61.In his home was a son named James, age 25.
In 1860 in Monroe county, GA, Unionville District, p. 847, son James, age 35, was listed as head of his own household in the name of J. G. English [probably James Green English].His wife was Malinda, age 28.They had a son named James, age 10, plus other children.Next door was Green English and his wife, Mary.
Per "Georgia Marriages to 1850" Green English married Polly [Mary] Morgan on 26 November 1816 in Jones county, GA.
Hope this helps you.
