Howard Luster
PAWNEE - Howard Luster, 81, of Pawnee, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at his home.
Howard was born April 19, 1930 in Alexander, the son of Robert and Georgia Breeden Luster. He married Dorothy Louise Blesse on January 10, 1953 in Jacksonville.
Howard was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and retired from ILMO Products in 1996 after 38 years as the district manager. Howard proudly served our country in the Navy and was stationed on the USS Saipan and the USS Jarvis. He was very active in Boy Scouts, Illinois Ditch Riders Snowmobile Club and American Welders Associates. He enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Rose Luster; son-in-law, Bernie Daily; and granddaughter, Rachel Harbin.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Luster of Pawnee; children, Debbie (husband, George) Lidy of Wheeler, Diann Daily of Springfield, Karen (husband, Bruce) Oglesby of Williamsville, Jim (wife, Colleen) Luster of Turlock, CA, Ed (wife, Karen) Luster of Springfield, Kathy (husband, Scott) Timm of Sherman, Lynne (husband, Danny) Harbin of Williamsville and Susie (companion, Mike Prince) Spain of Lincoln; sixteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Annabelle (husband, Wayne) Harshman of Pittsfield; three sisters-in-law; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Williamsville.
