I just found about this 2 year old post and would like to correct the "error" made in the assumption that, the... "family didn't seem to care much about it"... This could not be farther from the truth. While doing major renovations on the home that once belonged to Bertha (Luther)McElrath, Claude's Mother; my Husband and I had to move out for a period of time. It was during that time, the house was robbed and that flag was among the items stolen. My Husband John, Claude's only surviving son, wept over it's loss. Since I was sent a copy of this post, ( nearly a week ago) I've have been desperately trying to locate John Soesbee to no avail. If anybody knows how to get in touch with him, please let him know that my Husband would like to have his Father's Flag back, my email address is being displayed, in hopes that someone will respond.
