I have re-typed what I call the "Glenna Deal Manuscript" which she compiled back in 1987.I found it interesting because it answered some questions I had (but of course raised a few others).Anyway, I wanted to share it with everyone in case you find something useful from it.She listed her sources at the end which she consulted to compile the report.

John LUTTRELL, son of James b. 10 Nov 1691, d. 1761, Northumberland Co., Va., m. ca. 1712 Ann________. Co. Ct. 16 Mar 1708/9 - John LUTTRELL servant to Sarah TULLOS motioning the court for liberty to choose his guardian for to take care of his land during his minority & nominating John TULLOS the sd Tullos is accordingly by the Court admitted his guardian for that purpose and ordered the sd Luttrell serve his full time of service to his sd Master without ye molestation of the sd John Tullos. On 10 Nay 1742 John sold the 100 acres inherited from his father James to Abraham BEACHUM.(Under English law in effect in the Colonies, all of the land descended to the oldest son. )

John LUTTRELL, son of John (d. 1761) was b. 16 July 1717; d. between June 1766 & Feb 1767; m. (1) ca. 1739 Catherine THOMAS and (2) ca. 1745 Frances SANFORD, d/o Thomas & Margaret SANFORD, Westmoreland Co., Va.

1. John b. ca. 1740, d. 1781 Chatham Co., N.C., killed in conflict during Rev. War between Gen. John BUTLER on one side & Cols. FANNING & Hector McNIEL on the other. John taught school a few years in Westmoreland Co., Va. before moving to N.C. ca. 1768 where he m. ca. 1772 Susanna HART only dau. of John HART out of Hanover Co., Va. John was a Colonel during the War & received a land grant for 2,262 acres.As one of the Proprietors of the Transylvania Company, he owned vast amounts of land in Kentucky & Tennessee.He was living at Ft. Boonesborough, Ky. in 1775.John died without issue.Susanna m. 1783 John UMSTEAD, physician of Orange Co., N.C. John was administrator of father' s estate Feb. 1767, Richmond Co., Va.
