Coming from the leicestershire Lycetts it seems to have always been spelt this way as far back as the 1600's. Although we do have a copy of my husbands gg granddads marriage cert.(1846) with the surname 'Loishutt.' They were married at Wolverhampton and if you say Lycett in a West Midlands accent you could be forgiven for thinking it was spelt that way.
