1. Richard Stewart Dobbs, son of Francis Dobbs and Jane Stewart of Ballintoy, m. Harriet Macauley of Glenville, Cushendall with issue.
A close relative of Richard was Arthur Dobbs, Royal Governor of North Carolina.In 1745 he and a partner had purchased about 400,000 acres of land in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties.Dobbs planted many families from co. Antrim, France and Germany on his lands.
