MacDonald Family items to be returned to rightful family member!!!

By Melinda Yoas January 17, 2007 at 06:24:04

I am helping someone locate the relatives ofWilliam H MacDonald in order to return to them a box of letters and photographs that were found in an airplane hanger. The William we look for may have married a Francis Smith about 1930 or so.

This is the info from the lady who has them right now:

"If anyone out there knows how I can get in touch with relatives of a William H. MacDonald, or a Francis Smith (sorry I don't have a middle initial for her) who lived in Phoenix, Arizona in the 1930's, I would greatly appreciate any info you might have.

I have in my possesion a stack of letters and some old photographs that belonged to this family. These items were found in an airplane hanger in the 1970's or 80's, and I have been searching for the family since they came to be in my possesion in the late 80's. I don't have a lot of info to go on but here's what I do have.

Mr. MacDonald and Miss Smith were married sometime between (or around) July of 1930 and October 1930. Mr. MacDonald may have been a jewelry maker in Phoenix are, as there is also a reciept for jelery findings (silver chain and such) in with the letters. Another possible relative is a Marguerite MacDonald, and a possible aunt named Mrs. E. E. Kirby who called herself "Aunt Hattie". There is also a possible brother to either Francis or William whose name was Jack, who was in the Navy in 1940. I know that Jack shipped out from Lebanon, Oregon on August 20, 1940. The MacDonald's had a child sometime before August 1940, presumably in Phonix, but I have no name for the child"
