Haverhill, Mass -- Martha McKinnon, 90, of 150 Water Street, and formerly of Boynton Street, Manchester, N.H., died Nov. 23, 2001 at Penacook Place.
Born in Glengowan, Scotland, Aug. 4, 1911, Miss McKinnon was the daughter of Archibald and Mary (Hunter) McKinnon.
She immigrated to the United States in 1921 and setled in Manchester, NH, and graduated from Mancheser High School.
While in Manchester, she had worked as a medical secretary for a local doctor.After moving to Haverhill, Miss McKinnon worked in the kitchen department of the Hale Hospital.
She loved music, and enjoyed reading and writing poetry.A book of her poetry exists in the Haverhill Public Library.Her extraordinary talents in this field caught the eye of the Haverhill Gazette which detailed her accomplishments in a feature article.
Family members include a cousin, Connie F. Filleul of Old Orchard, Maine.
