John MacLennan from Edinburgh?

I have a copy of a photo from an old family album. On the back is written
John MacLennan aged 16. The photographer was A Dunbar of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
I have not found MacLennan in the family but assume it is connected to Buchan/Bain/Matheson of Edinburgh and RossShire.
Someone may be connected to this John MacLennan that is doing family research
