Hello,
Mainville's and Meville's from Ogdensburg. I found my great-great grand-father.
Born Etienne Vary dit Numinville
on 16 sept 1809, St-Jacques-l`Achigan
on the north shore of Montreal,QC, he moved to St Louis-de-Gonzague, in the South shore of the Island of Montreal, St-Clément parish. Maried Julie Cecile who bore five children:Antoine 1839, married Alphonsine Julien in 1865 in St-Louis-de-Gonzague; Etienne Varry born 1841-42 married en 1865 in Ogdensburg To Adèle (Adelia) St-Germain from Quebec; JULIE MINVILLe (VARY-MAINVILLE) born 3 nov 1843, St-Clément Beauharnois, St-Louis-de-Gonzague. I did not yet find out if she married and whom. Another child born in 1844, I cannot make out the first name on the census of 1852. And Jean-Baptiste 1846, no information yet expect that the family moved to Ogdensburg early 1860's. Both Etienne changed their name to Steven. Then I found Etienne the son as Stephan Mevillemarried in Ogdensburg to Adelia:
Children: Philip Meville, Meda Meville(F); Edward Meville
Regards,
Hélène Mainville
