Hi Jean:
I, too, have been following this family for quite a while now.My gg-grandmother was a Maker (Macker). She also spelled the last name that way sometimes. Her father was Simeon Maker and his father was BORDEN MAKER.
I believe you are right about John and Susannah having a son Charles. There were two, however, at least. There were two Charles Makers listed in the 1820 census - one in Rehoboth and one in Swansea.....
I believe John & Susannah's son, Charles married Nancy Wright in 1786.They had a William (Macker) and Philip P.I'm sure there were more but haven't found that out for sure yet.I live in Rochester, MA and have been to Taunton and Rehoboth many times in search of my elusive BORDEN who, when he died, die down the Cape way.He (Borden) head a brother, Seth who lived in Brewster. So, these Makers are all related and I'm also sure they have Indian blood.Still can't make my connection with Borden's father, but I will.........Would enjoy hearing from you and any thoughts you have on this.
Thanks,
PAT
