Miller/Malazdrewicz Family Roots
My name is KAROL(caw-roll)MILLER.I am a second generation male decendent of the MALAZDREWICZ clan or sept known to have its origins in Austrian Galicia. I am looking for descendents in Canada and the USA as well as for ancestors and descendents in Poland or more probably in present day Russia.
Specifically, three brothers immigrated to Canada from KARSZEW and/or LESZNO POLAND in and around 1901 - 1905. The three families boarded ship in Danzig at different dates and arrived in Montreal from where they proceded by train to MANITOBA. Afterarrival at the first Immigration Sheds in EAST SELKIRK they selected their homsteads.
The established family groups were: JON MALAZDREWICZ and wife KAROLINA with children; HRITCH MALAZDREWICZ and his wife NATALKA with children and IGNATZ (Ignatious) MALAZDREWICZ along with only two of his sons...BILL MALAZDREWICZ and STAUSH MALAZDREWICZ.A married sister MARY CHMELNITSKI also settled in WINNIPEG, Manitoba.
This is a brief summary of some family history intended to identify the clan in CANADA. If anyone has information pertaining to male and female descendents and ancestors of the MALAZDREWICZ clan I would be happy to exchange information with them so that I can flesh out a family tree.
The MALAZDREWICZ clan name is apparently unique and is reportedly rare in Poland. It is also rare in North America as many descendents changed their family name to MILLER.
So, I am looking to make contact with anyone of the MILLER/MALAZDREWICZ clan with origins in MANITOBA and SASKATCHEWAN and ARGENTINA.
It is noted that some clan members spelled the clan name ..MALAZDREWICH or MALAZDROWICZ (pronounced . mahl-as-dreveech).
NOTE:Some say that the name is the English equivalent of "Smallwood"
