No one with the surname of Dupuy served on the vestry of Christ Church or of the United Churches.I do not have a complete vestry list for St. Paul's Church yet.
What I find interesting is that many of those Christ Church members, who bolted to found St. Paul's Church, were still buried in the Christ Church Burial Ground. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that the Rev. Robert Jenney departed this life in January of 1762.Had he lived longer things might have been different.
An indication of Jenney's influence and control is that the Petition was signed on August 1, 1754; ground was broken for St. Peter's Church in 1758; and, St. Peter's opened its doors in mid-September 1761.On the other hand with out the influence of the Rev. Robert Jenney, St. Paul's was incorporated in June of 1760 and opened its doors in mid-December 1761.
If I find any one with the surname of Dupuy hobnobbing with any of my Philadelphia vestrymen, I'll let you know. Thanks for sending me your e-mail address.
