Sharon:I am a descendant of Margaret Manhard who married William Hamlin (Hamblin) about 1811-12 in Brocksville, (Elizabethtown) Ontario. Some researchers say she was born in Canada and/or England.More likely parents are from England. In the Reid book accountis the mention ofWilliam Hamlin being an early settler.I do know that they migrated to Ohio.Their tombstones in the Brown Cemetery in Lykins Township has birth and death dates: i.e. William 23 Aug 1787, d. 7 Sep 1869; Margaret11 Apr 1794, d. 13 Jun 1868.There is a David Manhard buried in Rock Creek Cemetery in Eden Township 3 miles from Melmore OH.This may be her father. From the source: Loyalist Lineages ofanada 1783-1983 by Toronto Branch of United Empire Loyalist Asso. of Canada appears the following:David Manhard, Children: Elizabeth, George,Margaret, Henry and William.Any info to establish the parents of Margaret? would appreciate an e-mail. thanks, Winona
