Re: Charles Mankin, b. c.1778 - d. 10Nov1840 in Alexandria
There are several mentions of a man by this name, who lived in Charles County, in the late 1700s, in "Along the Potomac River" extracts from the Maryland Gazette, 1728-1799 by
Edith Moore Sprouse.
None of the articles mention any other members of his family, but one mentions quite a few pieces of land in Charles County. One note states that he would soon move to Baltimore, and was selling land and slaves; 1799.
one article mentions that he might have had dealings in the town of Dumfries, VA.
I purchased the book from Heritage Books.
